We are living in times when the concept of love is so widely celebrated and commercialised - yet we still have such high divorce rates? Is love being infatuated with someone who liked your Facebook post? or is it spending thousands on weddings and honeymoons?
Love is Sayyidah Khadijah touching the chest of Rasūlullāh ﷺ everytime he entered the house. It’s her placing a cloak over him in order to comfort him and to show him her love. It’s her being the first to believe in him. It’s her being the first to bow and prostrate with him. It’s the Prophet ﷺ crying in yearning after he saw her necklace. It’s him sending her friends gifts as a sign of loyalty after she passed away. It’s him mentioning her greatness to all those who he met. It’s him saying, ‘Allāh has never given me better than Khadijah!’. And It’s about them discussing their home in Paradise together whilst they still walked on earth.
Shaykh Mohammad Aslam
Treat people the way you want Allah to treat you. Be merciful to others and Allah will be more merciful to you. Forgive others and Allah will forgive you. Conceal the faults of others and Allah will conceal your faults. Spend on others and Allah will spend on you. Assist others and Allah will assist you. Protect and support others and Allah will protect and support you.
Recognize your relationship with the creation as an extension of your relationship with the Creator and the world around us will experience increased compassion and harmony.
Suleiman Hani
learn to let go gracefully and completely, and maybe Allāh swt will grant you greater things.
hearing “I’m proud of you” from the right people is so comforting and motivating.
at your best you still won’t be good enough for the wrong person. at your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right person.
Whatever you want in life, make sure that you always want God more.
